V8 protease
CAS No.: 66676-43-5
EC No.: 3.4.21.19
Name:V8 protease or Endoproteinase Glu-C from Staphylococcus aureus V8
Description: V8 protease is a serine protease that specifically hydrolyzes the peptide bond on the carboxy side of aspartic acid and glutamic acid residues. The optimum pH was 8.0 ~ 8.5. Enzyme inhibitors include diisopropyl fluorophosphate (DFP) α 2-macroglobulin and n α=- P-toluenesulfonyl-l-lysine chloromethyl ketone (TLCK).
Unit definition: 37 ℃, pH7.8, catalytic hydrolysis 1 per minute μ Mol z-phe-leu-glu-4-nitranilide is one unit of enzyme activity.
Uses: used for protein structure and sequence analysis.
Specific activity: at 25 ° C, the activity measured with z-phe-leu-glu-4-nitranilide as substrate is about 20 U / Mg (at 37 ° C, the activity measured with casein as substrate is about 500 U / mg).
Specification: 50 µ g / piece, 1U / piece
